GET RHYTHM - A TRIBUTE TO JOHNNY CASH

‘Get Rhythm'
are a group of 8 musicians from Co Cavan who are aiming to recreate the prison shows undertaken by Johnny Cash & his band in 1960's.

This is the most authentic Johnny Cash/June Carter tribute in Ireland making them the No1 sought after Cash act in the Country.
Get Rhythm have appeared on Ireland AM & Irish TV, performed in Prisons, sold out shows nationwide, performed at Electric Picnic and recently embarked on a UK Tour.
Get Rhythm has received direct praise from the Cash/Carter family for their authentic tribute show and look forward to collaborating with the Cash Family in the future.
Following the successful prison tour, this 8 piece band (replicating the classic Cash, Tennessee Three, Carter Family and Carl Perkins line-up) are now taking their performance to venues playing songs from throughout Cash's career. Paul McCann will be recreating the role of Johnny Cash and June Carters vocal duties will be performed by Louise O’Reilly.

Supporting artist on the night is Donna Marie Sludds

Donna Marie is a Wexford born singer/songwriter , she could be considered to be an "overnight" sensation if you leave out the fact that she is Sixteen long years since she first stepped on stage (aged just eleven) with her bass guitar and distinctive voice to join the family band, The livewire from Enniscorthy benifits from having been surrounded with music from birth. She was on the local school choir and was pushed foward to sing the solo parts ,

Which encouraged her at aged eleven to record her first song "Angel" by The Kelly Family , in studio to feature on her parents cassette, which was followed by a four hour bass guitar lesson from her mother and her first live gig that same night. She continued to gig with her parents for a few years thats where her country roots came from ! ,She then moved on to become a member of the southeast's ledendry band "Breeze Junkie/Breeze52" and is now making the transfer from a talented and key band member to a leading solo artist.

The first big move in this direction was several appearances on RTE followed by the release of her debut Single "Simple Song" in April 2010 ,which made it into the Irish Charts the week of release. Discribed by the press as "An Infectious Foot Tapper" "Sometimes The (Simple) Things Are Best" , and " Very Unique". Donna Marie’s musical aspirations are very much on an up. Her second single "I Can't see it" was released in april 2011 along with her first music video on youtube, She has recorded her debut album “My Voice” which is awaiting release .

She is an amiable, almost shy young woman who seems to lose any inhibition onstage, TV or radio and blows everyone away with the powerhouse voice coming from her tiny frame. Her inherent caring nature was highlighted when little Madeleine McCann went missing. Donna Marie penned the song ‘Little Angel’ with her partner Michael Cloke. The song proved to be a huge success and served to raise both substantial money and awareness on the topic of abducted children.

Her music is available digitally and from select record stores.

Donna Marie and her band also provided the half time entertainment for the capacity 18,000 attendance at the crucial Leinster v Edinburgh Magners League rugby showdown in the RDS.

She has recorded with such artists as Aongus Ralston, Johnny Boyle ,Roberta Howett , Kerian Wilde ,Fiachra Trench ,Bill Shanley ,Keith Duffy ,Jason Duffy, Gavin Ralston , Peter Devlin ,Ciran Byrne ,Gerry Carney , Michael J Cloke and more.

She is now getting back into the studio over the next few weeks to record her new tracks after suffering from vocal nodules for 2 years, she is finally ready to bounce back .....

Keep a very close eye on this little lady! And don’t miss out on any opportunity to catch her live shows, which have already become legendary.
