Memorial event for Bridin Mulhall
Family, friends and colleagues of Bridin Mulhall are invited to a walk in her memory in the beautiful Slieve Bloom mountains on 25th June 2016.

12.00 - meet at Monicknew car park.

2. Search in Google Maps for "Monicknew Slieve Bloom Mountains".
3. Directions (from Dublin - takes about 1 hour from M50/M7):
- Take M7 towards Portlaoise (Cork/Limerick)
- Take EXIT 18 for Mountrath
- Follow signs for Mountrath (R445)
- At T-Junction in Mountrath (church on right), turn right
- Take next left after 100m (R440 signposted "Kinnitty")
- After 5km, turn right (signposted "Slieve Bloom Mountains", just after large yellow farmhouse)
- After 2km, turn right (signposted "Monicknew Forest")
- After 3.5km, the carpark is up on the right (just after you come around a sharp left bend)
12.15 - Once at the car park head down the short loop walk to the clearing by the river. See blue route on map below. There is a shorter non hilly walk or steps as an alternative. A couple of people will be on hand to direct.
12:30 - picnic and chat in clearing. Some sandwiches, tea and nibbles under a small marquee will be provided. Feel free to bring blankets or similar to sit on.
1.20 - tree planting in the clearing and a few words will be said in memory of Bridin.
1.45 - anyone who wishes to can set off with the group on the walk. There's a GREEN 4 km route (about 1 hour) option and a RED 7 km route (about 2 hours) option but both leave in the same direction. Map below.
For the walkers: it is advisable to come prepared with mobile phone, water, snacks, rain gear, footwear suitable for some boggy ground – the usual walking in Ireland stuff!
