The building of an innovative environment and the deployment of innovation is now regarded as an absolute in the enterprise, both for-profit and not-for-profit organisations. Innovation is a major domain in its scope and its outcomes. It is a major challenge in building capability and directing that competence and resource towards major value for the organisation. This talk considers the innovation journey and the elements we seek to develop and refine to achieve our innovation goals. It is aimed at those engaged in innovation, in research, in areas of change, with particular emphasis on innovation champions, innovation leaders and sponsors. Participants will have a short opportunity to raise their experiences and concerns.

About the Speaker: Michael O’Duffy is an experienced mentor and presenter on innovation and has practised innovation. He has worked with many organisations in different aspects of the innovation space, through training, assessment, and workshops in initiating and evolving an environment and direction for innovation. He has presented at conferences. He delivers public training through the Irish Innovation Network. Enterprises that he was worked with vary across many of the manufacturing and service sectors. He is also CEO of the Centre for Software Engineering that provides competence-building services mainly to technology organisations. He is director for a number of companies. He is a consortium board member of the Innovation Value Institute.
