We sat down to chat with Alex about why he finds Eventbrite useful for growing his business.
Why did you chose to use Eventbrite?
We have a number of events running in DSPCA every year. Our main focus was to find a ticketing partner that is easy for people to use and has software that gives me that reports that I need. There was the option of me creating my own ticketing platform but I didn’t feel the need when there is Eventbrite.
How many people were at your most recent event?
We had 1100 people book in.
What did you learn from that event?
I could see where the attendees came from which was invaluable. Obviously I spend money on advertising so I want to know what is working and what is not working. We use Facebook a lot for paid and unpaid promotion of events. Eventbrite allowed me to see that 50% of our attendees found the event via Facebook which will influence any future advertising spends I do.
I also could see the other channels that they came through. A lot come through Eventbrite’s own website which lists all the organiser’s events. In that way people that had never heard of us before discovered us through that event which helps build our business’ awareness.
Do you do many events?
Yes! We have training classes, seminars, summer camps and diploma courses. In September we will have an event for over 400 people.
What has been the biggest thing you learnt through Eventbrite?
For our recent event, not only did I learn that 50% of orders came Facebook, I also learned that 80% of the attendees booked via mobile. Mobile is a huge thing for this business and Eventbrite is technically ahead of the curve with it’s capabilities in mobile.
