Our Video Campaign

This week we announced the launch of our student focused campaign called Ideas Wanted. We want students to tell us their original ideas for an event that people will pay to attend. The winner will be awarded with €2000 towards their event, a paid work placement and more more which you can read about here…

To help promote the competition we signed up David Atkinson to work with us. David is a student of DCU and has an enviable CV already. He is a contributor for TV3 and a v-reporter for RTE’s The Voice Of Ireland. David has a fun, engaging energy which is exactly on theme for this project. The fact that he is a student makes his connection with students more genuine and it translates excellently on video.

The promo video for the competition:

We spent half a day filming this video in DCU. The direction was to use several angles and stitch them all together creating pace and energy. David lists possible event ideas and also slips in some of the prizes that the winner could win.

The vox pops:

These videos highlight David at his best, talking to people. He is a natural interviewer and he easily manages to pull humour from the students. The filming was completed on the DCU campus and there are more vox pops planned on different campuses. This is one of our favourite videos to date…

Promotion feedback:

We are less then a week into the campaign and already the views on all the videos have exceeded our expectations. These views have translated into more applications which proves that the videos whilst informative are attention grabbing.
