From party preferences to interior aesthetics, Pinterest Predicts highlights emerging trends we’ll all be embracing in 2025 – and (spoiler alert!) maximalism is well and truly back.

Pinterest’s data-packed report has plenty of inspiration for event organisers looking to appeal to Gen Zs and Millennials in the next 12 months…

Peak Travel

When it comes to travel, 2025 is going to be the year Gen Zs reach new heights. Faraway destinations where they can get much-needed fresh air are top of their Must Visit lists – but why not show them adventure is possible close to home too?

In the UK, Muslim Hikers organise inclusive, guided walks for all abilities at locations just a couple of hours away from major cities, while Black Girls Climb give city-dwellers the chance to hone their bouldering skills before heading for the great outdoors.

Chicago-based Out Our Front Door have made it their mission to show off Illinois’s often underappreciated landscapes and the American Alpine Club, in Washington DC is catering to thrillseekers with ice-climbing weekenders for people who are new to the sport in the diary for 2025.

Player One

The days of gaming being an at-home (and after-school) activity are long gone. Gen Zs and Gen Xs are obsessed with all things online – but they still love the rush of building IRL connections too. And what better way is there for gamers to connect than while bonding over the titles they love the most?

BrookLAN is NYC’s home of esports which, as well as offering a mouthwatering food menu and themed cocktails, hosts karaoke nights, quizzes and board game meet-ups to help bring like-minded games together, while LA’s Sunset Rooftop regularly busts out classics, including Mario Kart, for tournaments.

Nesting Parties

Baby showers are out, nesting parties are in.

As younger generations enter their parenting eras, they’re putting preparation at the top of their priority list. Millennials are behind the rise of this trend, which sees loved ones focus on helping parents-to-be get their homes ready for new arrivals (instead of playing games by a buffet table).

It’s not just their nearest and dearest who can help make sure parents are prepared – organisers can play a vital role by providing educational events, as well as helping mums and dads find their tribe for those night-feed WhatsApp messages. Love Story Birth in London hosts pre-and post-natal yoga classes while in the States, Prana Prenatal Yoga offers workshops on topics including Navigating Childbirth, Newborn Care and Infant Sleep.

Chaos Cakes

When it comes to sweet treats, understated bakes and stylish decorations have had their day. For 2025, it’s a case of the more outlandish, the better.

As the DIY spirit will be reigning supreme, why not host cake decorating classes to help keen bakers learn the skills needed to bring their ideas to life? Sweet Nothings & Pastries in Dallas offers themed sessions to give attendees a starting point, with afternoons dedicated to creating Unicorn cake masterpieces, and a Beyonce bonanza at their festive ‘Sleigh & Slay’ soundtracked by Queen Bey’s back catalogue.

Across the pond in London, We Bake We Move have already got their Valentine’s special booked in: a Rhythm ‘n’ Bakes class where you can spread the love as well as the icing, while enjoying R’n’B classics.

Moto Boho

Dig out the floaty, pastel-coloured skirts and fringe jackets: Boho is back. Again.

While high street stores will be flooded with replicas, there’s nothing quite as satisfying (or sustainable) as finding the real deal. Help Gen Zs land a bargain – and feel good for being kinder to the planet – with a vintage sale. London’s Hackney Flea Market holds events across the capital as do THRIFTED, whose kilo sales are the perfect place to unearth designer gems made to last.

Primary Play

Let’s be honest: Adulting is often overrated. There’s nothing more fun than letting your inner child loose and next year, Gen Zs will be channeling their playful energy into redesigning their home spaces. Their designs will be all about maximising fun – think hand-painted murals and bold contrast trims – but they’ll be needing serious skills and know-how to pull them off.

In London, community space The Tool House helps people build confidence with home DIY and furniture upcycling workshops, while It’s A Vibe’s paint parties help Californians get the creative juices flowing. Their events – with on-trend themes – give attendees a space to practice their brushwork before tackling entire walls of their homes

Rococo Revival

Yep, Rococo – the extravagant Late Baroque period famed for super-luxe interiors, unashamedly OTT decorations and ornate gowns. We did tell you there’d be nothing minimalist about 2025.

You’ll have to think outside the box on this one, but there is plenty organisers can do to cater to attendees looking to serve Marie Antoinette realness. New York Adventure Club is giving history buffs a chance to learn more about the enigmatic French Queen. Elsewhere, The Dance Society in Indiana has themed parties around her and Dress Up Studio in California has helped Antoinette obsessives recreate Rococo looks with a whole season of hands-on classes dedicated to the period.

Sea Witchery

Witchy vibes might just be for Halloween but sea witch eras are for life. Or for 2025 at least.

Gen Zs and Millennials are embracing the Sea Witchery aesthetic, but creating dark siren make-up and mermaid manicures at home isn’t easy. Help wannabe sultry sirens perfect the look with hair and beauty classes. The Makeup Studio’s Hair Styling and Blowout class in New Jersey will set attendees on the path to creating mermaid waves. Caitlin Vanessa Creatives’ Prosecco & Play make-up sessions create a fun, welcoming environment where people can try out new looks while enjoying a glass of fizz.

Pickle Fix

When it comes to food and drink, there’s one thing we’re all craving: pickles, pickles and even more pickles.

The humble gherkin is having a moment and in Maryland, internet sensation The Pickled Guy – who has more than 280k followers on TikTok – is presenting an entire festival dedicated to the delicacy next May.

You don’t have to throw an event for thousands of people to jump on the trend (though there’s bonus points if you do). Creative World in California is pairing pickling with painting at a workshop with double the fun, where attendees can learn how to make their favourite food and create artworks inspired by them.

Castlecore

We’ve had cottagecore, cowboycore and even Underconsumptioncore – but now it’s time for Castlecore. Medieval aesthetics are about to be big as Gen Zs and Millennials take decorating inspiration from castles, and complete their outfits with Gothic touches.

Hosting an event in a unique (and Instagram-ready) venue is a brilliant way of tapping into audiences who are loving this trend. In Ireland, Returning Light are bringing a night of enchanting music to Donegal Town Castle and while it’s not quite medieval, Landoll’s Mohican Castle in Ohio – inspired by the real deal in Europe – is hosting everything from masquerade parties to dinner with a psychic medium in the coming months.

Or how about bringing a goth aesthetic to your event? Salem’s Vampire Lounge hosts regular club nights where sportswear and jeans are banned – it’s black clothes only, please!

So what are you waiting for? There’s no time like the present to start putting plans in place and getting those exciting new ideas off the ground. Bring on 2025!
