Practical CBT delivers high quality training workshops across the UK for therapists, counsellors, health care workers, educators and the general publicA key part of our training programmes is the extensive resource guides we provide for all delegates.We offer CPD programmes on a wide range of psychological conditions and issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger, bereavement, couples issues, dependency and Therapist Self Care, along with specialist sessions for SMEs and charitable organisations. We focus on a CBT approach but integrating mindfulness, compassion, schema therapy and metacognitive approaches.Our lead consultant, Professor Patrick McGhee is a CBT therapist, psychologist and UK National Teaching Fellow. In 2017 he was a Visiting Fellow/Scholar at the universities of Cornell, Yale and MIT in the USA. He has taught, researched or practised in psychology and therapy for 30 years. He was Research Fellow in Psychiatry and Psychology at St George's Hospital Medical School, University of London. He is the author ofThinking Psychologically(Palgrave) and co-editor ofAccounting for Relationships. He is an occasional columnist forthe Guardian,theBBCand theTimes Higher. He currently works in private practice and was a volunteer therapist in Greater Manchester for several years.
