About this event

One-to -One Session with a parent and a consultant

Social Skills Training consists of behavioral treatments designed to foster “correct” behavioral development.

The crux of this idea is to introduce a reward system (reward-motivated behaviour) to teach children with ASD about the recognition and application of normal social skills. For verbal children, children with high functioning Autism and Asperger's, a parent is coached to deliver structured activities in a group of minimum 2 children.

For children with lower functioning autism, a parent is coached how to conduct the activities first directly with a child, as per the coach's instructions and to transition the child to social skills interactions with peer/s.
