About this event
The Museum is delighted to welcome author Rebecca C Tuite for a special talk about Amercian Vogue in the 1950s, under the editorship of Jessica Daves. This talk is based on Ms Tuite's new, beautifully illustrated publication - 1950s IN VOGUE: The Jessica Daves Years 1952-1962. The book explores the iconic fashion magazine during this time and the oft-overlooked editor-in-chief Jessica Daves. Ms Tuite will also discuss the connection to The Way We Wore exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts & History, and the ways in which Irish designers, such as Sybil Connolly, were embraced by American Vogue.
Rebecca C Tuite is a fashion historian and writer, and a doctoral candidate at the Bard Graduate Centre. Her previous work includes Seven Sisters Style: The All-American Preppy Look, which was featured in the Wall Street Journal, Paris Vogue and Vanity Fair.
