2 Day 'Forever Beginning' Poetry Workshop with Clodagh Beresford Dunne
2 Day Poetry Workshop with Clodagh Beresford Dunne
About this event
A workshop for those who are at the early stages of writing poetry and who are ready to examine ways to develop a promising draft into a perfect unit. Looking closely at titles, opening lines, form and structure, and using various approaches to expand and extend your poetry skills, this workshop will explore ways in which you might raise your work to the next level. Participants will be expected to submit one of the poems they wish to workshop in advance of attendance. There will also be daily prompts to make a start on some new poems.
2 Day Workshop - Thurs and Fri, from 9am to 12:30pm
Clodagh Beresford Dunne's poems have been published and broadcast internationally. A qualified lawyer and teacher, she has won Listowel Writers' Week Irish Poem of the Year and the UK'S Clarissa Luard Emerging Writer Award. She is a recipient of several Arts Council of Ireland Awards and was a featured poet in the National Library of Ireland's 'Poets In Conversation' series. She has been described by Edna O'Brien as "A brilliant writer with an ancient wisdom and thrust but also with a modern, searching, brave sensibility."
