About this Event
Run online this MidTerm Break with a focus on the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) we will work with aspiring young entrepreneurs and innovators to tackle some of the biggest challenges the world is facing!!
Aspiring young innovators & entreprenurs will be allocated into teams. We go big and narrow in, to work on making REAL impact! This will be an exciting week and we have some really great prizes too for the winning team!
Note: you dont need to have an innovation idea coming into the programme - we will work wtih you and the teams on how to develop an idea.
About
EMPOWER is a HEA (Higher Education Authority) funded programme designed to support the young innovator and entrepreneur. EMPOWER will focus on helping young people to build a powerful toolkit that, through support, will enable them to build creative, innovative and entrepreneurial skills for life.
EMPOWER has been designed by LIT & Mary Immaculate College together with advisors in business including young entrepreneurs, academia, national and global youth organisations, teachers, investors, incubation and acceleration teams and informed by some of the best models globally. This is our 4th year running this programme but we have been running entrepreneurship programmes for more than 14 years!
EMPOWER will prepare young students for real world success, building their innovative, creative, design and entrepreneurial skills and mindset through activity based learning!
Schedule Over The Four Days
The programme will run via Zoom from Tuesday 27th Oct to Friday 30th Oct from 10am to 3.30pm each day. Max 20 students. You must be a current secondary school student (senior cycle TY, 5th, 6th) in Ireland.
- 10:00 – 12:00 Session 1 (with a break)
- 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
- 12:30 – 14: 30 Session 2 (with a break)
- 14:30 – 15:30 Team Work (Friday will include demo day and everyone who completes the programme will receive a Certificate of Achievement from LIT, MIC and the HEA!)
