Event description
A weekly exploration of ideas in the arts and humanities

About this event

Imperial College London’s Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication and the Graduate School are pleased to invite you to a new 10 week free lecture programme looking at different aspects of arts and culture.

Starting in October, each week we will explore a different aspect of the arts, humanities and social sciences in the company of a different specialist who will introduce their research subject. This will take us into diverse worlds ranging from art history, film studies and philosophy to design history, music theory and literature.

Each session is self contained, so you do not have to attend all them, you can pick and choose the ones that interest you.

Also, you do not have to be knowledgeable or an expert in any of these topics, as each week the tutor's task will be to explain their subject to you, the topic they will be looking at and giving you some of the basic ideas you need to take your studies further if you want to.

There is no practical work, homework or preparation needed, just an open mind and the ability to spend an hour or so listening to expert academics from the arts, humanities and social sciences present some of the ideas that get them excited.

This programme will be delivered live using Zoom. After registering for a free ticket you will be sent the Zoom link nearer the time of the talks.

Standard Imperial College Evening Class terms and conditions apply.

If you enrol you do not need to attend all of the lectures as they are stand alone events.

You will need internet access to view these lectures as they take place online.
