About this event

Weekend Tickets holders will have access to approximately 40 talks or events across 4 stages over three days - covering debates, discussions, performances, lectures, interviews and readings.

It gives you access to absolutely everything in the programme, as well as the bars, food-makers, bookshop, workshops, and grounds of Borris House in which to take a stroll.

We await the Government's permission to gather within the guidelines for a festival that promises the beatuiful intimacy of a smaller audience (perhaps 500?) in the company of writers, musicians, broadcasters, thinkers and policy-makers liberated from the confines of online life.

Please note: if you have a ticket already, you can get a refund anytime, or you can transfer it to next June (10th to 12th) 2022 if August does not suit you.

Organiser Borris Festival of Writing & Ideas

Organiser of 2021 Weekend Ticket - Borris House Festival of Writing & Ideas

The postponed ninth edition of The Festival of Writing & Ideas will take place September 18th to 20th 2020, bringing together some of the most intriguing international minds – novelists, journalists, film-makers, poets, theatre directors, war correspondents, biographers, artists and political commentators – for a weekend of stimulating dialogue and discussion.

Borris Festival has become known for its languid and laid-back feel, and for its extraordinary line up of speakers.

“One of the friendliest, most stimulating literary festivals in the world.” – Ian McEwan

“Manages to retain all the charm of a smaller gathering where people are here because they fancy it, not because they are selling a book.” – Mariella Frostrup

Selected as Best Literary Festival in the World 2019 by The Telegraph and Net-a-Porter
