2022 KRSP - Inclusive Summer Camps Programmes for Children

KRSP are delivering a summer programme for children with additional needs. We have 4 programmes on offer.

About this event

Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership are delighted to announce details of our 2022 Inclusive Summer Programme for children with additional needs. Supported by KRSP staff, tutors, coaches and a cohort of great volunteers.

Week 1 - July 4th to 8th - Activities will include: Rugby, Tennis, Dance, Soccer, Kayaking and Orienteering (lots more and fun too!)

Week 2 - July 11th to 15th - Activities will include: Cycling, Badminton, Basketball, Soccer and Rugby (lots more and fun too!)

Week 3 - July 19th and 20th - Thanks to Kilkenny GAA we will be based at MW Hire Training centre in Dunmore, Kilkenny for the 2 days of fun and games. Supported by Kilkenny GAA, KRSP staff, tutors and our KRSP volunteer group.

Week 4 - July 25th to 29th - Swimming programme each morning with support from a Swim Teacher, KRSP staff and volunteers. 45 minute sessions from 11am to 11.45am and 12pm to 12.45pm

ALL participants MUST pre-register online. Parent / Guardian must complete the application on behalf of the participant. If you need support to register online contact Seamus Nugent on 087 3567884.

PLEASE NOTE

• Water and refreshments will not be provided for participants – please ensure your son/daughter has enough drinks and snacks for the duration of the day’s activities

• Please ensure that sun cream is applied before attending the activities. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather e.g. sun hats, rain coats etc

• Where KRSP provides equipment, we will ensure its sanitisation pre & post activity

• Please note that neither KRSP staff, tutors, coaches or volunteers are trained to provide for the intimate care needs of participants. If your son/daughter needs intimate care assistance, please ensure that a suitable person attends with the child on site to provide this. Please contact Seamus to discuss arrangements.

At Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership, our priority is to protect the health and well-being of all our participants, staff, volunteers, coaches and tutors. • Staying at home if you feel unwell and consulting your GP.

• Travelling to the activity/venue alone or with members of the same household.

• Arriving ready to participate and as close as possible to the activity start time or waiting in your car until the activity begins.

• Being mindful at all times that we may be sharing the space with members of the public

• Not congregating before/after the activity – please leave the area when the session is over.

• Keeping your distance at all times - social distancing throughout the activity in accordance with Government guidelines.

• Using the hand sanitisers provided before and after the activity

• Bringing your own water bottles, towels and where possible personal equipment. Please do not share these with others.

• Adopting good respiratory hygiene, covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, and using a tissue which is immediately disposed of. Further guidance on hygiene and social distancing is available from www.hse.ie/covid19

Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership (KRSP) is one of the network of Local Sports Partnerships developed through Sport Ireland.  The key aims of Local Sports Partnerships are to increase participation in sport and physical activity especially amongst specific target groups and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect.
