Disciplines we wish to attract include (but are not limited to):

  • Synthetic Biology
  • Systems Biology
  • Pharmacology
  • Inter/Intra Cellular Communication
  • Chemical Networks
  • Communication Engineering

The workshop will deliver three profile keynote speeches in multidisciplinary topics and incorporates two focused tutorials aimed at young researchers. Moreover, the workshop will run three technical sessions focusing on emerging hot topics and will host three panel sessions.

Fundamental Molecular Communication: This theme focuses on leveraging communication theory to either model the behavior of living systems or to design and analyze artificial molecular communication system.

Applications of Molecular Communication: This theme focuses on applications in the area of biomedical, environmental and industrial engineering. For example, health monitoring and drug delivery.

Experimental Molecular Communication: This theme focuses on simulation tools/techniques and experimental testbeds.

The Workshop will run over of three days, incorporating technical presentations of emerging research and results, tutorials on relevant topics, Keynote speeches as well as NEW Ideation sessions focusing on developing new opportunities for funding.

Linz is the third-largest city of Austria and capital of the state of Upper Austria (German: Oberoesterreich) and it is a symbiosis as an international creative city of industry and culture – nestled in a beautiful natural landscape by the Danube.

The designation of the European Capital of Culture 2009 as a UNESCO City of Media Arts is another milestone paving the way for Linz to become the creative centre of Europe.

Linz is well known for the "Linzer Torte", which is said to be the oldest cake in the world, with its first recipe dating from 1653.
