Description
City Academy Norwich has secured funding from Sport England to provide additional Top Up Swimming sessions for pupils from targeted schools who cannot swim 25 metres yet.
Each week, pupils will take part in 30-minute lessons where they will build their confidence in the water and learn the fundamental swimming skills.
Who for?
The course is open to pupils in Year 6 and 7 from targeted schools who cannot confidently swim 25m yet. The targeted schools are: City Academy Norwich, Bluebell Primary, Valley Primary, Henderson Green Primary, St Michaels Junior and West Earlham Junior.
When?
The 8 week course will be held between 5.45-6.15pm on the following dates.
- Tuesday 21st March
- Tuesday 28th March
- Tuesday 18th April
- Tuesday 25th April
- Tuesday 2nd May
- Tuesday 9th May
- Tuesday 16th May
- Tuesday 23rd May
Young people are expected to attend all sessions to gain the maximum benefit. Please arrive 15mins before the start of each lesson so everybody is changed and ready for the lesson to start on time.
Where?
Course will be held in the City Academy Norwich Swimming Pool. PLEASE NOTE - Access to the pool is via Earlham Road rather than the main school car park on Bluebell Road.
How much?
Thanks to funding from Sport England, the 8 week course is FREE of charge.
Who is the course being organised by?
The course is being organised by City Academy Norwich. All lessons will be delivered by qualified instructors from Water Babies Norfolk. The project is supported by Active Norfolk and funded by Sport England.
