We invite you to visit our magical Christmas Market and Santa's Grotto on Saturday the 3rd of December from 11am to 4pm. (Last Admission 3:30pm) *SOLD OUT*

Our Courtesy Bus will collect you from the following locations:

2. The Bus Stop located beside Mueller & O’Connell bakery, R32 A265

3. The Manor Hotel, Cork Rd, Abbeyleix, Laois R32 VE24

4. Abbeyleix South School, Ballacolla Rd, Abbeyleix, Laois R32 PP79

Parking is reserved for Vendors and eligible Disability Visitors with valid parking passes granted prior the event, please use courtesy bus to access the event. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the 3rd of December.

About Our Event:

Enter our magical courtyard here at Abbeyleix House and Farm where we have gathered a variety of local craft and food vendors for you and your family to come together in festive cheer. Whether it’s a gift for granny, an old friend, or two, our vendors are sure to tempt you and your shopping list with all they have to offer!

Enjoy soft, jolly sounds of our carol singers', singing festive music as you sip on a complimentary hot drink and take a stroll around the market or out to the paddocks, where you might meet some of our friendly furry friends.

100% of proceeds from the Abbeyleix House and Farm, Christmas Market and Santa's Grotto will be donated to St.Lazarians SVP Conference and My Lovely Horse Rescue.

Christmas Market:

Open from 11am until 4pm with last admission at 3:30pm. Limited Market Admission available on gate, pre-booking is advised through Eventbrite to guarantee entry. All tickets include a complimentary hot drink and access to the Christmas Market.

Leave the car at home and take our courtesy bus from Abbeyleix town, first bus leaving at 10:45am from one of our 3 Park-n-Ride locations in Abbeyleix town (Locations to be announced). Last bus leaving the Market at 4:30pm. Buses will be every 15 minutes from Abbeyleix Park-n-Ride locations. This journey will take 5 minutes approx.

Parking passes are available but this is strictly reserved for eligible disabled and age-friendly visitors, please note these are limited. If eligible for parking pass please Add-On at time of booking.

Santa's Grotto: *Santa's Grotto Now Sold Out

Santa has taken some time out of his busy schedule to make a visit to our magical grotto.

Be greeted by his friendly Elves and participate in some activities with them as you await your visit to Santa. If you have been very good this year, you may receive a Token Gift* from Santa himself. One family photo print is included in the Santa's Grotto time slot ticket, which you can take home and frame to remember the occasion.** Additional prints are available to purchase on day.

Market Admission is included with all Santa's Grotto Ticket and Add-On Tickets.

Please Note: Santa's Grotto Tickets include 1 Adult and 1 Child to visit Santa and prior booking via Eventbrite is required. Adults and Children need a Santa's Grotto Ticket or an Adult Add On Ticket, to enter the grotto.

To add extra people to booking please scroll to bottom of available tickets and add on respective people. We advise all Santa's Grotto Tickets with a 3pm to 4pm visit to arrive to the market before 2:30pm to make sure you have a wholesome visit.

Please park your car respectfully within our amazing town. Both Schools, Churches and The Manor Hotel have kindly agreed to open their car parks for the day while parking will also be available at Fr. Breen Park. If you avail of on street parking, please do so respectfully, making sure not to block entrance/exit routes to any locations.

All access to the Market and Grotto location is via our courtesy buses from Abbeyleix Town ONLY.

Private Transport can not be granted access to park at the venue. This is under advice from Health and Safety and we kindly ask all guests to take our courtesy buses from Abbeyleix Town, so everyone can have a pleasant, safe and festive experience for you and your little ones!

The 1st bus will depart each point at 10.30am and will run on a loop until final pick up at 3.15pm. The final bus will depart the Market at 4.30pm.

Parking Passes for eligible Disability guests - these are fully reserved at this time.

4. Can I purchase Admission Tickets to the Market on the day?

Limited tickets for the Christmas Market Only will be available on the day, all Santa Grotto visits must be pre booked via Eventbrite. Please note this is first come first served - once capacity unfortunately we will have to not grant access for non-ticket holders.

6. Where are you located, where do I park?

Christmas Market and Santa's Grotto is located at Abbeyleix House and Farm.

Abbeyleix House and Farm Parking is strictly for Disablity visitors only, this needs to be pre-booked at time of booking. All other entry will be by courtesy bus from Abbeyleix town. This bus service will bring you too and from the market - departing every 15 minutes from our selected location. Starting at 10:30am, last bus leaving Christmas Market at 4:30pm.

7. Is there public transport to the location?

We will have a courtesy bus departing from 3 locations in Abbeyleix every 15 minutes. This journey takes 5 minutes.

8. When will registration close?

Ticket sales are open until capacity is reached. There will be a limited number of tickets for Market admission available on the day.

9. What can I expect on the day?

A scenic drive up our avenue, to arrive, to soft festive sounds from our Carol Singers, who will entertain throughout the day. Enjoy a complimentary welcome drink on arrival with plenty of local food and crafts stalls to enjoy. Stroll through the grounds and visit our animals out in the paddocks. We will have our magical Santa's Grotto open also for prior bookings only. The courtesy bus is complimentary and will bring you and your family to and from the market and back to your carpark in Abbeyleix town after the event.

10. Will there be food and drinks available?

Yes, there will be local produce to purchase in the food and craft fair as well as some hot food options from food trucks.

11. What is the dress code?

We recommend wearing comfortable footwear as the event will be held outdoors on the grounds of Abbeyleix House and Farm. We would also recommend planning for the weather as the event will be outdoors.

13. What is your Covid policy?

The health and safety of everyone at the family day is our top priority. All government guidelines will be closely monitored and adhered to. At present Covid-19 passes and antigen testing do not apply to outdoor events in the Republic of Ireland. In addition, hand sanitiser will be available across the festival and regular cleaning will take place.

For the safety of everyone, we strongly recommend all attendees are fully vaccinated and test themselves prior to attending.

15. What is the age limit at the event?

The event is open to all ages. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All patrons must have a valid ticket, general admission can be purchased on day, pre-booking is advised via Eventbrite.

16. Will there be a parents’ room?

Please note, this is an outdoor event. We will do our very best to make all of our guests feel comfortable - if you have any specific requests, please contact alice@abbeyleixhouseandfarm.ie.

17. Are there baby changing facilities at the event?

Yes, these will be located at the toilet block.

18. Will there be wheelchair accessibility?

Please note, the Christmas Market is an outdoor event on the grounds of Abbeyleix House & Farm. Some areas are hilly and steep and could become muddy in the case of rain. Please contact us at alice@abbeyleixhouseandfarm.ie if you have any specific queries.

19. Can I get refund?

Unfortunately this is not possible. 100% of your ticket price has been donated to our local nominated charities, mentioned above - thank you for your kind donation.

20. Will the name on the ticket matter?

For Market Entry Only:

There is a unique barcode on each ticket, it will be scanned on entry.

For Santa Grotto Entry:

22. Can I bring my dog?

No, only guide dogs will be permitted.

24. Is the Abbeyleix House open to the public?

Abbeyleix House is a private residence and will not be open to the public.
