Academic Writing Workshop for Library Staff

The L2L team is delighted to announce a series of Academic Writing Workshops with Helen Fallon. This will be the first of three. There will be separate invites made for each one.

For the first of the three sessions:

Over the course of three days, Fallon will visit our three partner sites:

January 16th 2018 - Dublin Institute of Technology, Training Room, Library, Aungier Street.

January 19th 2018 - Institute of Technology, Carlow, Chamber Room, Haughton Building.

January 23rd 2018 - Dundalk, Institute of Technology. Training Room, Library.

Participants will:

• Develop confidence and motivation to write

• Learn techniques for overcoming writer's block

• Identify publishable material from practice/research

• Be aware of different abstract formats and know how to craft an abstract

• Develop a structure for a book chapter

• Begin writing the chapter

• Draw up a writing plan for the chapter
