Event description

Description

Place : Clonakilty , West Cork
Fee : 350 workshop
Surfing : 130 with instructor
Apartment sharing ; contact helenawalshvoice@gmail.com .

Coaches : Helena Walsh & Alida Bevk

This workshop will take place each day after a surf in the morning. In the morning there is an optional two hour surf lesson or for those who already surf, time to surf. Alternatively you can see this as free time to walk on the beacg or relax in Clonakilty.
We will be working on Acting and Vocal technique through scene studies. We will explore what it means to be truly present in a scene as well as how to connect to the moment and allow creative impulses to emerge. We will look at how to build a character from the inside out, learning to trust creative impulses and build an embodied biog for your character , one that comes from experience and can continue to shift and change as you go deeper into your character's world. You will learn skills on how to create character and keep it evolving. We will use QiGong & Fitzmaurice Voicework as the foundations of the body and voice work each morning before working on character and text , as well as using them to explore character and text.

We will email you the scenes two weeks before the workshop, so you have a chance to read the play. If you have a monologue of your choice prepared to be worked on that would be great . Something you would like to use to audition with or may have written yourself or a poem or song.
