The Activator OUTDOORS Training
Workshop enables participants to;
- introduce Activator poles and key features to clients
- correctly demonstrate and effectively teach the special Activator technique.
- outline the key components of functional fitness and correctly
demonstrate exercises that can be done with the support of Activator Poles to enhance each component.
- plan and lead a 4-6 week community?based outdoor Activator Programme.
The 1-day workshop comprises a mix of indoor theoretical inputs and outdoor
practical sessions. Key content includes;
- teaching the technique (tips, tactics and progression)
- pole-supported exercises to enhance key components of functional fitness
(range of motion, balance, strength and aerobic fitness)
- programme planning issues (target groups, progression, venues, etc)
Participant Background and Experience Participants should
- hold a professional qualification in exercise and fitness, physical education,
physical therapy, physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- have experience in leading activity programmes with older adults
and/or people with balance concerns or mobility issues
