Event description

Description

You are invited to this bespoke 2-day Active Bystander Train the Trainer , designed for HR and healthcare providers in the Saolta Group and the School of Medicine NUI Galway. It follows on from the successful one hour Active Bystander Training (ABT) conducted here last year.

The purpose of the Train the Trainer is to allow you to deliver the one hour ABT to your department, students and faculty, in particular the interns in the West Northwest Intern Network.

‘Active Bystander’ is an hour long, fast paced session which equips delegates with the skills to deal with bullying, sexual harassment and intimidation in the workplace. It includes techniques to overcome fear, nervousness or panic - and to ‘call out’ bad behaviours with confidence, using advanced communication techniques drawn from the psychology of influence and persuasion. Each delegate receives a printed ‘Active Bystander’ toolkit at the end.

‘Train the Trainer’ is a two-day intensive programme for staff trainers to learn to deliver ‘Active Bystander’ internally within their organisation. It includes advanced training and facilitation techniques which can be applied more broadly beyond this programme - and contribute to their continuing professional development.

Subject to a final assessment, trainers are accredited to deliver ‘Active Bystander’ within the organisation and are provided with ongoing support and mentoring during the period of accreditation.
