About this event
The Active* Consent Programme welcomes staff & students in HEIs across Ireland to be trained to facilitate our 1.5 hour in-person Consent Workshop for the academic year 2022/23. This training explores all the Active* Consent programme knows about the context in which students are exploring their sexuality and how we can work together to build a consent culture on your campus.
During this 3-hour online session, you will engage in the 1.5 hour consent workshop as a participant, learn how to facilitate the workshop on your campus, and be given information on how to embed it into your academic programmes or during orientation/events.
Our consent workshop that you will be trained to facilitate includes:
- Raising awareness of the importance of consent
- Information on what non-consent looks like (debunking rape myths)
- Relevant Irish laws
- Looking at why consent even in the online world is vital
- Realizing that being intimate is not compulsory
- Understanding that rejection is not about rejecting the individual
- Understanding that Consent is OMFG - ongoing, mutual and freely given
- Sharing ideas on what you could actually say to your partners and friends
- Giving you information on appropriate support services
- Access to our eLearning module ‘Sexual Violence and Harassment: How to Support Yourself and Your Peers’.
