Advanced Endoscopic Ear Surgery Dissection Course
ntensive course on atticotomy, ossiculoplasty & tympanoplasty with hands-on endoscopic dissection of sinus tympani & facial recess.
About this event
Endoscopic ear surgery (EES), or transcanal endoscopic ear surgery (TEES), can reduce the likelihood of the postauricular approach in middle and inner ear surgery. Endoscopes allow more enhanced visualization and increase the field of view even around corners. This hands-on course in EES will take place in the cadaveric surgical skills lab in ASSERTs simulation centre. Conditions such as perforation of the eardrum will be repaired with procedures such as interlay graft myringoplasty and tympanoplasty. You will raise tympanomeatal flaps for second look middle ear inspection. Conditions like small cholesteatomas or pre-cholesteatomatous changes will be addressed with a procedure involving the removal of the lateral attic wall, with an Atticotomy procedure. There will be discussion and planning for approaches to the sinus tympani and facial recess. And Ossiculoplasty will be discussed and performed to reconstruct the ossicles in the middle ear (malleus, incus, and stapes) that can be damaged or dislocated clinically due to infection or trauma. This course will be delivered by a distinguished faculty of national and international experts, who will share key techniques and clinical considerations.
Learning outcomes:
After doing this course you will:
- Increase your proficiency in Endoscopic ear surgery.
- Gain more confidence in determining indications for EES use.
