Description

The second Social Prescribing Network of Ireland Conference will be hosted by Waterford Social Prescribing Service. The conference is aimed at advancing the development of Social Prescribing as an integrated element of health care services throughout the country. The conference will provide a forum for those already involved in the provision of Social Prescribing services, for people who wish to learn more about social prescribing and for those who can positively contribute to advancing the development of Social Prescribing in Ireland.

The conference will focus on:

  • Building the case for Social Prescribing across a broad range of community settings, locations and health services

  • Learning from established Social Prescribing services in the UK

  • Policy and practice that has helped to establish and sustain Social Prescribing services

  • The evidence base for Social Prescribing in promoting health and wellbeing and enhancing community connectedness

  • The role of Social Prescribing in reducing social isolation and health inequalities

  • Supporting GPs and other health professionals to understand Social Prescribing and its role in promoting physical and mental health

Sir Sam Everington, GP at Bromley By Bow, Chair of NHS Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group, and Chair of the London Clinical Commissioning Council


Dan Hopewell, Director of knowledge and Innovation,Bromley by Bow Centre


Professor Rose Anne Kenny, Professor of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College Dublin, Principal Investigator and Founder for the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA)
