Supa Moda is the story of a girl who wants to be a superhero, and the community who make her dream come true.
About this event
Jo is a witty and adventurous 9-year-old girl who dreams of being a superhero. When she is diagnosed with a terminal illness, her village decide to make her dreams come true and turn Jo into the superhero they know she is.
The village stage elaborate scenes to make it seem as if Jo can save the day with super powers to control minds, stop time, and battle the ‘bad guys’.
Supa Moda (which translates as “Super Kid”) is the story of how a community comes together to help a young girl realize her dreams and ensure her memory stays alive.
The film has screened at festivals around the world and was nominated as Kenya’s entry into the Academy Awards.
