This fashion show will feature designers from all different culture of Africa showcasing their different fabrics to the world and will also welcome Western designers that are happy to embraces the use of African fabrics. African cultural fashion blending into the new trends and styles for the new millennium, it is important to never forget our background and roots of Africa heritage showcase through fashion.
The event presents itself therefore as an opportunity for the designer both well established, student, homemaker tailors and upcoming to increase their experience and become competitive, recognised locally in Ireland, be present and recognised internationally.
The event will last from 16th November.
The format envisages the direct involvement of web users and major networks through the activities of the social media team of AfroFashionie projecting the Afro Fashion Show Ireland & African Fashion Week Ireland. The Initiative is created by Susuana.O.M Olatunji Komolafe, and the Project Manager for 2017 is Annie Waithira Murugi, alongside with the other members of the team.
It is great to live in African prints all the time, embrace by the western world, seen on all people of different cultural background. We are apparel company creating style and celebrating prints, celebrating traditional African culture and traditions with our use of prints to create innovative collection and showcase to the Irish community and rest of the world. We believe in the power of asserting one's identity through traditional fabrics and enjoy sharing the technology and creation of these unique garments with our audience of fashion lovers. Part of The Fashion Week’s mission is to bring people together by preserving their African Roots through unique and beautiful cultural garments through cultural awareness to bringing the community together as one and enhance integration.
To designers, makers, educators and consumers of fashion who want to continue implement positive change through positive actions in the global fashion industry. This is a not-for-profit event with all profits donated back to the work of Afro in Diaspora Center work mission. It is sure to be a fantastic event showcasing some of the best established and emerging fashion designers in Ireland and around the rest of the world.
Final year fashion and students designer in colleges and universities are all welcome, graduates, emerging, independent and established designers entrepreneurs will come together to showcase the creative innovative work in fashion and designs. Irish African fashion retailers and local and regional manufacturing textile companies, education and other sector businesses will team up as sponsors and partners of the show to help create awareness of opportunities and challenges our local fashion designers, fashion business and entrepreneurs. We are hoping it will be an amazing day filled with fun entertainment and inspiration.
