About this event
There can be no return to ‘business as usual’ after the pandemic. As the COVID-19 restrictions end in Ireland, many of us are struggling emotionally, financially and socially while trying to find a balance.
While adults can shrug this off as part of life experience; fear and uncertainty have overshadowed a significant proportion of youth lives. They missed out on school; were cut off from friends; told they could contract an invisible virus that might endanger their families; saw their parents become distressed, in some cases, abusive.
The pandemic made youth engagement especially challenging, while their mental well-being dropped disproportionally compared to other age groups. They struggle with fitting in, racism, unemployment, loneliness and higher levels of anxiety.
It’s time to think about what the restrictions did to young generation, and way forward in a post pandemic world.
While we cannot change anything about the time lost, we are proposing to make this event one that would bring reflections, networks, showcase talents, games, fun and plan for better times ahead.
