Event description
A new national initiative from CAN for people who would like to collectively explore responses to the economic & social crisis of our times.

About this event

Aligning Intention with Action is a national initiative from CAN. Between January and June 2022 we will host a series of sessions for people who would like to collectively explore new responses to the economic and social crisis of our current times. We will create a learning community to inquire into concepts, practices and methods that will equip/ facilitate/ guide/ allow us to reshape society in a way that values the many rather than the few.

This offer is prompted by a desire to ignite energy, creativity and courage to attend with fresh eyes to our current reality. We need new ways of being in the world, to stop trying to make structures work that we know in our heart and soul are not fit for purpose. It is so easy to allow overwhelm to shut us down, withdraw and slip into negativity, cynicism and fear. Yet we believe that where we place attention is where our energy will go and grow. Paying attention to the interior condition from which we operate in a safe learning environment will help generate action confidence for us as a collective.

Who are we?

CAN is a social justice NGO that is dedicated to creating a more equal, more just society that has the well-being of citizens at its heart. We work within a human rights framework, and we seek to build leadership and dialogue for positive social change and participative democracy. For more information about CAN and our work see

The programme will be facilitated by Cecilia Forrestal and Monica Manning. In facilitating this programme, Cecilia and Monica bring their extensive experience of transformative leadership development and whole systems dialogue facilitation. Their practice is built on the simple but complex premise that we all have a part to play in system change. If we inquire into our different perspectives, we will enhance our capacity to make sense of the deep-rooted stuck patterns that continue to repeat themselves and impede our ability to build a more just and equal society. By doing this in an atmosphere of respect and non-judgement, it is possible to change the quality of our relationships and to create systemic change.

How will it work?

There will be ten two-hour long sessions plus a final follow-up session taking place every fortnight between January and June, with a break for Easter.
