Amiga Ireland: Online

Since the global pandemic has unfortunately left us no choice but to cancel our planned 2021 gathering in Ireland, we are planning a shorter and slightly more casual gathering online. Ticket fees go towards the running of the 2022 event. The day's schedule will be announced in January.

Note: this online event is not the same as the now-cancelled 2021 event (i.e. we haven't just moved the event online). This is an less formal gathering for us to get together, talk, have an interview or two and some hi-score gaming competitions. There may be some workshops. 2021 plans have been postponed to 2022 and will take place in Athlone, Ireland.

Once your ticket has been purchased, you'll receive access to the event page on our website using a link and a password.

We'll be meeting the developer of a new type of hardware for Amiga - X2! One is an internal mod and the other is a peripheral not quite like the others.

We'll meet Melon Dezigns co-founder and developer of the Amiga game Naughty Ones (A500, A1200, CD-32).

One Workshop will teach you how to create a Workbench application using AmiBlitz (which you can download here: https://aminet.net/package/dev/basic/AmiBlitz3  ). Another Workshop will teach you Lightwave 3D, which you can follow along with versien 5.00r.

We'll catch up with David J Pleasance & Trevor Dickinson to see what's new.

We'll have running hi-score game competitions throughout the day as well as some demos and MODs.

These run for about 20 to 30 minutes each to allow time afterwards for gaming and interaction among guest.

Unscheduled/Ongoing Events

Hi-Score competiton. Play and submit your personal best. Games so far include: Dodgy Rocks, Pinball Fantasies, Cybernetix, Speedball 2, SWIV & Uridium 2.

Chat: Use the chat chat channel to banter

Rooms: Join breakout video rooms if you’d like a break from the main area and share your computer, webcam, voice or all three. We’ll create extra rooms titled “booth..” if you’d like to have a 1:1 catch up with a friend.

Learn: Practise what you’ve learned in the workshops and show off your results.
