Governor Makhlouf will discuss current trends in the Irish, German and Eurozone economics, as well as opportunities and challenges in the financial system.
The event will be hosted by the Consulate General of Ireland and IHK Frankfurt, in partnership with Verband der Auslandsbanken in Frankfurt, Europa Union Frankfurt, Irish Business Network Frankfurt and German-Irish Lawyers and Business Association.
The Governor’s address will be followed by a networking reception, hosted by the Consulate General of Ireland.

About the speaker:
Gabriel Makhlouf took up his position as Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland on 1 September 2019. He chairs the Central Bank Commission, is a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, a member of the European Systemic Risk Board, and is Ireland's Alternate Governor at the International Monetary Fund.
Before joining the Central Bank, the Governor was Secretary to the New Zealand Treasury and the Government's chief economic and financial adviser from 2011 to 2019. He has also chaired the OECD's Committee on Fiscal Affairs and was responsible for the UK's Government Banking Service.
