Acclaimed singer and storyteller, Thomas McCarthy will share his vast repertoire of traveller songs and stories as part of the Bealtaine Festival 2022 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Thomas was born in Birr, County Offaly and comes from a long line of old traditional singers and musicians who kept the tradition of traveller singing and storytelling strong.
Thomas McCarthy was awarded the Traditional Singer of the Year at the Gradam Ceoil TG4 awards in 2019 and was recently profiled in the RTÉ documentary, ‘Songs of the Open Road’ directed by Pat Collins.
