The evening also celebrates Paula Meehan’s portrait by Mick O’Dea going on view for the first time.
The portrait was generously donated to Hugh Lane Gallery by Joseph M. Hassett and Carol A. Melton who are joining us for the evening.
This evening will start with a warm welcome in our reception area from 6 pm onwards, visitors may view Paula’s portrait in Gallery 9 which will be open for the duration of the event. We will begin our conversation at 6.30 pm. As well as discussing her life and work, Paula will read some of her favourite poems. We will also be joined by Joesph Hassett a Yeats’ scholar who will read one of Yeats’ poems. We will have a short Q&A session at the end.
The event will be followed by a viewing of Paula’s portrait and a wine reception.
