Conceived from a frustration around current global turmoil and a firm belief in the unifying power of great food and open dialogue An ‘Other’ Supperclub project was set in motion with a mission to connect great minds with a desire to challenge the concept of the ‘Other’ in relation to the current Syrian crisis and provide a collaborative space to facilitate meaningful open discussion and understanding.
This gathering will focus on discussions around the Syrian conflict, and attempt to raise awareness and funds through music, arts and the sharing of ‘Other’ perspectives from all walks of life.
The gathering is about people coming together to experience an ‘Other’ story. Everyone has been inundated by the headlines on the struggle of refugees but gradually become desensitized. This night is about sharing perspectives and experiences for sustained understanding.
The ‘Other’ Supper club is about creating dialogue between real people, with real stories, sharing wholesome food from different parts of the world and rejoicing, laughing and enjoying diversity for what it is.
In collaboration with Sofar Sounds, Peachy Dublin, The Silk Road Cafe and Shakshuka Dublin in aid of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) work with those affected by the Syrian crisis.
