Andrzej Kozłowski
Overview
Join us for an evening of Chopin with pianist Andrzej Kozłowski.
Born in Gdynia, Poland, Andrzej Kozłowski grew up surrounded by a rich musical tradition before emigrating to the United States in 1992, where he later developed his passion for the piano. He first encountered the instrument at age 11, inspired by the Chopin Nocturnes, and quickly showed remarkable natural ability, setting him on a dedicated musical path.
After stepping away from the piano completely for seven years, Kozłowski later returned to music professionally. This renewed chapter of his artistic life has shaped a deeply personal approach to performance, especially in the works of Fryderyk Chopin, whose emotional depth and expressive power remain central to his musical identity. His interpretations are described as sentimental, spontaneous and shaped by his own life experiences, bringing a narrative and introspective quality to Chopin’s music.
This recital features a selection of Chopin’s celebrated works, including the Waltz Op. 34 No. 1, Nocturnes Op. 27 No. 2 and Op. 62 No. 1, and the Polonaises Op. 26 Nos. 1 & 2 and Op. 40 Nos. 1 & 2.
Kozłowski’s return to performance is a testament to the enduring pull of music, offering audiences a thoughtful and emotionally resonant connection to one of history’s great composers.
