Disert Heritage Project in conjunction with Donegal Co Co would like to invite you to explore the archaeology of Counties Donegal and Sligo.

About this Event

You can attend both or just one of the following trips:

Wednesday 26 June: The archaeology of SW Donegal. This is likely to include: Inver Church, Bruckless Holy Well, Cloghanmore Court tomb, Malinmore portal tombs, Glencolmcille Turas, Glencolmcille Folk Village, Kilclooney Portal Tomb, Ardara Heritage Town (all subject to change). The price includes transport, lunch and all entry fees.

Thursday 27 June: The archaeology of Co. Sligo. This is likely to include: Staad, Creevykeel, Drumcliffe, Carrowmore, The Greenfort, Sligo Abbey, Tobernalt, Abbeyquarter megalith (all subject to change). The price includes transport and all entry fees. Lunch is at your own cost in Sligo town.

The trips will be in the company of the digging crew from our upcoming excavations at Disert and will be led by archaeologist Dr Fiona Beglane.

Pick up is from the Bluestack Centre, Drimarone at 8:30 each morning or from Estuary Holiday Homes, Rossylongan, Donegal Town at 8:45. Returning around 6pm. We won't wait for you so don't be late! Make sure you bring waterproof clothing and strong shoes. All under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. To attend you will need to complete a Disert Heritage Group membership form on the day (membership is free).
