Event description

Description

How do we find intimacy in the 21st century? Can technology help us to fundamentally fulfil our desire for connection, or are we ultimately re-programming ourselves for future loneliness?

Despite living in the age of connectivity, it can be a luxury to spend face-to-face time with our loved ones. Being able to communicate at the speed of light has never been easier, but how much intimacy do we really share. How close can we really get when technology is involved? Join Cyberpsychology Researcher at the University of Wolverhampton and Lecturer at IADT Nicola Fox Hamilton and Dr Jamie Saris, Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at Maynooth University as they debate if technology really is the future of human connection or if we should disconnect to get close. Followed by a discussion and audience Q&A.
