Change is a journey, not a destination

Is volunteering really changing? Are we focussing on the right things?

What are the familiar things we are trying to change? How do they differ from the things we actually need to change but that are sometimes harder to identify and that the organisation itself may not even recognise?

Let's talk about what is really important in our volunteering programmes, what is changing and what we might want to focus on.

This will be a very interactive session which will give the participants some practical ideas of what they can do in their own roles to better understand and thrive in changing situations in their roles and organisations.

Requirements

To take part in this training session you'll need to:

• Sign-up before the 22nd September 2021
• Answer the questions in the application form about you, you'll see these when you register to attend
• Be able to have your camera turned on during the session
• Be prepared to take part in a highly interactive session

Facilitator: Mariana Vieira da Rocha SPEAK London Co-Founder and Director; UK Student Volunteering Network Chair; Training Facilitator

Mariana, originally from Portugal, started volunteering when she was 7 years old and has not stopped since. She's moved to the UK ten years ago and has been working in Volunteering and Higher Education for the past 9 years. She is also a Co-Founder and Director at SPEAK London, a volunteer led organisation that connects migrants, refugees and locals living in the same city through a programme of language and culture exchange events. Recently established as a freelancer, Mariana is an expert in helping people connect to opportunities they feel passionate about and provides consultancy and training facilitation in a range of topics.
