About this event

8 week course for anyone in any stage of addiction recovery, to ease stress and anxiety with powerful mindfulness based methods, as a way to find emotional stability and peace of mind in everyday life.


  • You think you can't meditate. You've tried it and say it's not for me
  • You say I can't stop my thinking, racing mind
  • You are feeling anxious / fearful or stressed
  • You struggle within your relationships
  • You want to feel in control of difficult thoughts and emotions
  • You want to feel calm, centred and balanced
  • You yearn for more peace of mind


Each 2 hour evening draws on a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and exploration of patterns of behaviour, thinking, feeling and action. You will receive simple guided meditations for dealing with thoughts, emotions and working skillfully with physical and emotional stress. You will learn to identify triggers or habits that might lead you back to addiction. You will begin to cultivate self compassion, emotional regulation and stability which is essential for ongoing recovery and long-term health.


It is essential to attend all 8 sessions to get the best out of the course. There is also a requirement to practice the methods for 30 mins daily, each week, to build up all the skills by the end of the course. It may be helpful to plan in advance how you might make that time for yourself.


Anyone in recovery, whether experienced in mindfulness meditation or not. It is recommended , however, that you have a minimum of 9 months abstinence or sobriety. Contact me if you would like to check in about this.

I will have a short telephone call with each participant to ensure the course is right for you at this time and to answer questions.


The fee is reduced to €150 (usually €350). I'm happy to offer this reduction as I hope to create a supportive on line community of mindfulness meditation practitioners who are in recovery.

A course booklet and digital guided meditations are given as part of the course fee.


A yoga mat and/or blanket you can lie comfortably on. It is important to find a quiet space to attend where you won't be disturbed. Ideally a laptop, desktop or tablet is best for viewing but if you only have a smartphone that will be fine too.

I began my own recovery journey 31 years ago (1991) and meditation practice in1993.

This is my first event via Eventbrite but I have been teaching mindfulness courses and workshops for years. I'm a certified Mindfulness and Meditation teacher and accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist. More details:

Research shows that mindfulness based interventions have been found to be beneficial for a number of psychological and physical conditions such as chronic pain, depression, anxiety and addictions. It also shows improvements in brain functions associated with learning and memory and with anxiety and stress.
