Event description
Showcasing artworks created by pupils in St Brigid's, The Coombe and Dublin Steiner School through workshops with Celina Muldoon

About this event

As part of the Ark Life project Pallas Projects presents the Workshop Exhibition with Celina Muldoon. This exhibit showcases the fantastic wearable sculptures, props, costumes and banners created by pupils in St Brigid's, The Coombe and Dublin Steiner School over 8 weeks of workshops with Celina Muldoon.

A very special thanks to collaborating artist Paul Murnaghan for composing the Ark Life soundtrack featured in the workshops and exhibition; and to Larry from Dolphin's Barn Canal Biodiversity and Clean-Up Group, and Robert Emmet CDP Beekeeper, Anthony Freeman O’ Brien, for sharing their knowledge with pupils during workshops to inspire their wearable sculptures.

______

Ark Life is a major community-focused artist-led programme celebrating biodiversity in Dublin City through 2021/22.

The multifaceted project is centred around a new commission by artist Celina Muldoon, initiated by Pallas Projects and funded by the Arts Council, and involves a series of online and real-world workshops, in collaboration with local schools and community groups, culminating in a - now postponed - celebratory parade linking green spaces in Dublin 8. The Ark Life parade will invite participants to celebrate biodiversity in the city, featuring wearable sculptures created through the workshop programme, and performed to a new score composed by collaborating artist Paul Murnaghan.
