Event description
Wicklow County Council (WCC) is developing an Arts Plan for the period 2020-2025.

About this Event

The plan will consolidate nearly a quarter century of arts development and provision led by Wicklow Arts Office (established in 1997). It will guide the work programme and resource allocation of Wicklow Arts Office in the period to 2025.

The plan will be informed by analysis and reflection on the existing work of the Arts Office and its likely resources in the medium-term. It will take account of the evolving arts landscape in the county as well as the wider cultural, social and economic environment in Wicklow and nationally.

The plan will also be informed by the process of online submissions (July-October), supplemented by two public meetings in early autumn 2019. Those meetings will be attended by Jenny Sherwin, WCC Arts Officer and by Martin Drury, an arts consultant engaged by WCC to assist in the development and writing of the arts plan.

The intention is to publish the plan online when approved by Wicklow County Council towards the end of 2019.

The purpose of the consultation meetings is to listen to and take soundings from those with an interest in arts policy and provision in County Wicklow. Within that frame, the agenda is open and observations on any topic relevant to the development of the arts here will be welcome.

Please join us on either the 24th of September in Blessington Library at 7.30pm or on October 3rd in the Town Hall in Bray at 7.30pm.
