Increasing numbers of UK students are now applying to, or interested in applying to, universities in Continental Europe, with a view to enrolling on one of the 800 undergraduate programmes there, now taught through English.

EUNiCAS, the European University Central Application Support Service, has been asked by a number of Careers Advisors to run a short workshop that prepares them for the increasing number of questions that they are being asked by their students about these opportunities.

EUNiCAS is now offering several Workshops, across the country, with the objective of providing Careers Advisors with a solid grounding in the area.

In this three-hour workshop, you will acquire:

-  an overview of 800 undergraduate programmes available through English [plus programmes in Ireland]

- an overview of the many programmes that are still accepting entries for 2013

  [there is still time for your students to apply to many programmes in Continental Europe]

- an overview of European Tuition Fee regimes

  [there are no fees in Scandinavian countries and very low fees in countries such as Germany,  Austria and the Netherlands]

- an overview of Student Finance opportunities

 [For example: in the Netherlands all EU students can avail of a Tuition Fee Loan; in Denmark and the Netherlands, students can avail of student grants, subject to working part-time]

- an understanding of the Entry Requirements for these programmes

- an understanding of the diverse Application Systems in Continental Europe, including processes and deadlines

- an overview of the CAO system, used for applying to universities in Ireland

The workshop is delivered by Guy Flouch, of EUNiCAS, who has a long experience of supporting students in their applications to EU Universities
