Description

Babylon Radio is proud to present its night celebrating multiculturalism in Dublin. People from all around the world will be using the universal language of music to share and enjoy this moment. The Italian/Spanish trio 11 Shamrock will open the festivities with their beautiful Spanish rhythms, such as Flamenco, Rumba and Latin, as well as Reggae and Ska music. Mel Leone will enchant us with her sweet and delicate Brazilian voice, followed by the sounds of one of Dublin’s finest soul funk bands, Fever Solstice, who will lay the groove to your tonic. To headline the evening we have the multicultural, world-beats influenced sounds of Kiruu with his band that will make us dance for the rest of the night.

Kiruu is a multi-instrumentalist and singer of Irish-English origins whose eclectic sound has been formed with influence from his East African upbringing and European roots (Ireland/UK/Spain). His music is interactive and his sound varies from slow indie to stomping swing and everything in between, sung in different languages (English, Swahili, Spanish, and French).

Based in Dublin, Kiruu plays both solo set (an intimate sound looping, guitars, piano, and percussion), and also with band consisting of himself dynamic and diverse musicians from the Dublin scene, providing a high energy live show. ( more info : https://www.breakingtunes.com/kiruu)

Fever Solstice Fever Solstice is a Funk/Soul/Jazz band based in Dublin, Ireland. The five piece band was formed by graduates from the iconic School Of Rock in Dublin in 2014 and have spent the past couple of years playing in venues and festivals across Ireland, such as; The Grand Social, The Bowery, Whelan's, Rather Gather and The Wiley fox just to name a few.

The band formed as a result of guitarist Paddy O'Donnell coming to Matthew O'Brien (Keyboardist), Sam Martin (Drummer), Grainne Swanton (vocalist) and Róisín Barrett (bassist) and asking them would the like to form a 'Blues band' little did they know that several years of trying to establish themselves as 'Fever Solstice' and not just the 'Blues Band' they would have played in some major venues across Ireland and have created music that they are proud to call their own.

The band takes their influences from musicians and bands such as Hiatus Kioyate, Erykah Badu, Vulfpeck, The Beatles, Anderson Paak, Funkadelic and Earth, Wind & Fire. Grainne Swanton, the bands lead singer and Róisín Barrett, the bassist also takes alot of their influences from bring from more rural parts of Ireland compared to the other members who all hail from Dublin.

With all of these factors coming into play Fever Solstice put on a live show that is engaging, grooving and most importantly exciting and entertaining to the audience.
They put on a show that gets your feet moving, your heart beating and your mind thinking.

Mel Leone : Mel Leone is a Brazilian artist who has always loved music.

Composition has always been part of her life, she always liked to write. As a singer she participated in some musical projects before founding the band Girls of Liverpool (band formed by girls that pays tribute to the Beatles), in which it is vocalist and guitarist.
