Event description
A guided walk along the Ballincollig Otter Trail

About this event

Cork Nature Network is delighted to offer a guided walk along the Ballincollig otter trail in Ballincollig Regional Park on 26th May at 7:00 pm.

This event is part of a week of activities and promotions on the otter trails in Cork. We are celebrating World Otter day with a talk and walk led by Cork Nature Networks Campaign Manager, John Armstrong. John will talk about otter ecology, the importance of the River Lee for the otters and why we should protect them.

Our speaker:

John Armstrong

John Armstrong studied Ecology in UCC and has a special interest in science education, the marine and water issues in Ireland. He is the campaigns manager for CNN and represents CNN on the board of SWAN (sustainable waters network.) John works in the education department of Fota Wildlife Park and as a consultant ecologist. He is a mentor for the All Atlantic Ocean Youth Ambassadors.

The meeting point will be at the first ‘Otter trail’ sign which is just past the main car park.

The whole walk including the return to your car will take around an hour. The walk is fairly easy.
