6 week one hour online exercise class led by chartered physiotherapist for people living with arthritis and related conditions.

About this event

While trying to navigate a life while living with arthritis and related conditions, we don't want to lose sight of the importance of exercise in self-management of the condition. We are therefore offering free online 6-week adapted chartered physiotherapy led course through the online Zoom platform.

Due to funding requirements, this course is only available to those who are living in Dublin South (HSE CHO6)

Information about the Be Active with Arthritis Physio Course:

Best Evidence recommends that people with arthritis should participate in regular exercise to optimise daily function and enhance quality of life. 

The exercise classes offered by Arthritis Ireland and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, and delivered by a Chartered Physiotherapist, aims to give participants an understanding of the role of exercise in managing their arthritis. In addition, the classes allow participants to partake in an appropriate exercise programme that improves, strength, mobility and conditioning and therefore enhances quality of life. 

The group classes are one hour in duration and 12 people maximum take part in the class allowing for individual attention from the physiotherapist. 

This course is FREE but places are limited.

Course Information:

Class duration: 6 Week 1 hour class led by a Chartered Physiotherapist

Day: Friday

Time: 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Dates: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th May and 10th and 17th June.

Please note there will be no class on Friday 3rd June due to Bank Holiday weekend.

To attend these classes, participants will have to be independently mobile and a basic general health screening will be performed in advance of the class.

Once you register for the course through eventbrite, you will receive confirmation from Arthritis Ireland and then will receive details of the zoom links from the physiotherapist.

The physiotherapist will set up 10-minute zoom session with you to ensure that your set-up is working, to explain a little bit more about the classes and to answer any further queries you have may.

Please note that zoom is a semi-public platform and that participants will be able to see each others video screens during the class.

In order to ensure privacy and to meet required GDPR guidelines, we will request that participants do not record the class.
