Event description

Description

The End by Samuel Beckett is a darkly funny tale, bleak but with brilliant humour which will be performed by well-known actor Marcus Lamb. This is a special limited capacity event in a unique location which is inextricably linked with one of Ireland's greatest writers. Tickets include a wine reception and an exhibition depicting Beckett and Foxrock

Beckett in Foxrock 2017 is the second annual event honouring the writer’s connection with the area. Samuel Beckett, Nobel Laureate, was born and brought up in Foxrock and was a regular attender, along with his mother, at Tullow Church. A commemorative plaque was unveiled by his niece in 2016.

Marcus Lamb, who played Des O’Malley in the TV mini series Charlie and Padraig Pearse in RTE’s Rebellion, will shortly be seen in the film adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s The Secret Scripture. Marcus has toured with Druid in Australia, North America, Japan, Ireland and Europe and is an experienced Beckett actor.
