Description
Women in Research Ireland are delighted to host Dr Ebun Joseph on the 12th of December. Dr Joseph will be discussing the topic "Becoming Relevant: The career path of a black scholar in Ireland".
Ebun Joseph is the Module Coordinator of the first Black Studies module in Ireland. She lectures on race, migration, social policy and equality. She holds the position of Career Development Consultant at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Ebun has a Masters from Maynooth University in Adult Guidance, a professional diploma in Counselling and a PhD in Equality Studies from UCD. Her article, “Whiteness and Racism: Examining the Racial Order in Ireland” (2018), was recently published in the Irish Journal of Sociology. Her research interests focuses on Critical race theory; race and racial stratification and how it is reflected among groups in the labour market. Ebun Joseph is also an author and first Chair of the African Scholars Association Ireland.
The seminar will begin at 1pm in the Global Room, Trinity College Dublin. A light lunch will be provided. Tickets for this seminar are free but please register.
