Event description

Description

Brexit raises many important issues for Ireland and its future, north and south. To date, the debate has been excessively narrow with excessive focus on economic and institutional issues. There has been a lack of public discussion about the social and cultural dimension to Ireland’s membership of the European Union or what kinds of cultural practices or policies it might need to develop in a post-Brexit Europe. The proposed seminar will identify the cultural challenges of Brexit and examine how to develop an inclusive and diverse post-Brexit European identity.
