About this Event

Please note: preference for this workshop will be given to those who have not previously attended an Anyone4Science or similar workshop with South Dublin Libraries.

Join Anyone4Science for an exciting bioengineering workshop to celebrate Engineers Week and International Women's Day.

Bioengineering is where engineers work with doctors to design and make devices that make people's lives better. Imagine if you were born without a hand or if you lost one in an accident and you needed an artificial hand. What would you want it to be like? What would you want it to be able to do? At this workshop we will discuss these questions, draw up a specification and each participant will build an artificial hand to meet our spec.

Packs will be posted out to the participants.

Suitable for ages 10+, adult supervision is required.

Please note: A valid email address is required.

Zoom links to the event will be emailed to the supplied address by the facilitator.

One ticket per device, only 1 device per household.

Please note:

For events, priority will be given:

  • Firstly, to people living, working or studying in the South Dublin electoral area
  • Secondly, to people living in Ireland.

This may result in the cancellation of your ticket. We appreciate this may cause disappointment, but hope for your understanding in this matter.
