Event description
This course will cover the basics of financial governance to ensure all charity trustees have an understanding of their charities' finances.

Monday 15th November 2021 (10am - 1pm) and Tuesday 16th November 2021 (10am - 12.15pm)

*Please note that this training will be facilitated online via Zoom. This full-day course will be facilitated over two half-days. Attendees will be required to participate in both sessions in order to receive the CPD hours. Due to limited capacity, if you are unable to attend one of the sessions, you will not be transferred to a future session*

Finances can be a daunting aspect of being a charity trustee for many people. It's important that all trustees have a basic understanding of financial governance. This course will cover the basics of financial reporting and governance, aimed at existing trustees. Gain confidence in your understanding of your charity's finances so you can ask the right questions.

The full-day training is led by governance expert, Dorothy Dalton. Dorothy Dalton is a leading expert on Governance.

Boardmatch Ireland is a national governance charity, supporting the development of the community and voluntary sector (the Not-For-Profit sector) by strengthening boards and management committees, primarily through:

  • Matching of candidates from not-for-profit and public sectors onto not-for-profit boards

  • Building the governance capacity of Not-For-Profit boards

  • Enhancing leadership quality and skills sets on Not-For-Profit boards

  • Developing and providing training packages and other supports for boards and board members

  • Fostering links between public, private and not for profit sectors to the benefit of all.

Boardmatch Ireland was established in 2005 to address the skills needs of the governing bodies of not for profit organisations. To date Boardmatch Ireland has matched over 3,000 candidates to the boards of not for profit organisations.
