About this event
***SOLD OUT***
Banking & Payments Federation Ireland is delighted to announce our first National Payments Conference 2023 at the Westin Hotel, Dublin 2, on Monday March 27th from 9.00am - 1.00pm in association with Square and Diebold Nixdorf .
Opening the event will be EU Commissioner Mairéad McGuinness who will share the EU's perspective on topics such as the Digital Euro, Digitisation, Regulation and SEPAInst. The event will also bring together Irish and international experts and thought leaders - including senior bankers, Fintechs, regulators, policy makers - to explore the current and future payments landscape in light of the rapid changes underway in the financial industry ecosystem.
A series of keynote speeches and panel discussions will address core topics including:
• Where to next for Payments in the post-PSD2, post Covid era?
We peer down the tracks and assess what impact evolving consumer expectations, impending legislation, SEPAInst, Open Banking and increasing competition from Fintechs will have on the industry.
• Payment Data – untapped asset or fool’s gold?
For years, banks and payments providers have been told their payment data is the key to unlocking deep customer insights which would drive the development of highly tailored services, if only this ‘gold’ could be unlocked. Is anybody really doing this or is the gold in reality fool’s gold.
• Financial Crime – Keeping Customers Safe in an Evolving Landscape
Financial Crime is one of the biggest challenges facing the payments industry. What can we do to further protect to our customers and our industry? Our panel of experts will discuss the latest fraud trends with real-life examples that shine a light on the rising sophistication of fraudsters.
